Lost in Tibet - by Richard Starks and Miriam Murcutt

Richard Starks is an award-winning journalist, former editor and publisher, and the author of four other books - two novels (a political thriller and a financial thriller); a non-fiction book about economics; and the novelization of a horror movie called The Brood (written and directed by David Cronenberg).

Miriam Murcutt is a former magazine writer and editor, as well as a publishing-industry marketing executive.

The two authors have traveled extensively throughout the wilder and more mountainous regions of the world, and they have made many trips to the various countries in and around the Himalayas.

They have hiked in the Everest valley, climbed a couple of Himalayan peaks, walked the length of the French Alps, completed the John Muir Trail, stumbled around the Tour de Mont Blanc, and completed a cold and windy circuit of the Torres del Paine in Patagonia.

They have also walked with pilgrims around the koras of some of Tibet’s greatest monasteries. And, in the middle of winter, they have crossed the Tibetan plateau to follow, as closely as possible, the route taken by the five airmen whose story is told in their book.

The authors both live in Boulder, Colorado, and can be contacted by email at starksmurcutt@msn.com.
